If you ever have the opportunity to work with Herb Feins, with Roadrunner Moving and Storage, you will experience what countless satisfied clients already have over the past 35 years, he delivers professionalism and excellence to a Commercial and Industrial relocation.
Not only is experience required, it also takes enormous energy, enthusiasm, and endurance to stay the course while consistently delivering Commercial Moving and Storage service excellence in the fast pace and dynamic business environment of Houston, Texas. Herb possesses all of these traits, and then some.
Herb made his migration to Houston which was a “boomtown” in 1970 from his native New Jersey. He initially worked selling auto parts but soon found himself in the moving business selling installation services for modular furniture to many of Houston’s largest office tenants. He left the industry for a short time and moved to Dallas where he sold office equipment. It was at that time Herb realized how much he enjoyed the Commercial relocation business. So much so he moved back to Houston and started his very own company, Industrial Transfer. His business grew very quickly while servicing the growing facilities of many of Houston’s most prominent organizations. As Industrial Transfer continued its growth, Herb expanded into the Dallas market to service his client base. Like many owner operated companies, Industrial Transfer’s growth presented Herb with challenges he did not enjoy. It was in 1992, after landing one of the largest relocations of his career Herb teamed up with Roadrunner Moving and Storage’s visionary Robert McGowan to better service this quickly expanding installation service and commercial relocation business.
If you try to keep pace with Herb, you better start early! Over the past 10 years, Herb has begun most every day at 5:30am with a brisk 30 mile bike ride through the streets of Houston with many of his cycling friends, also known as: “Bikin’ & Eggs”. Herb’s
enthusiasm for cycling has taken him from being the 2006 Texas State Champion in his age group, to numerous cycling trips and many beautiful locations, including Tour de France treks. If logging nearly 10,000 miles per year on a bicycle weren’t enough activity for one’s spare time, Herb still finds time to enjoy Colorado skiing and Europe travels while visiting his Daughter, Son-in-law, and 2 Grandchildren in Surrey County, U.K. as well as Son, Daughter-in-law, and Grandson in Beaver Creek, Colorado.
Herbs past times and activities are numerous, in fact, he has refereed ice hockey, announced Professional Ice Hockey games for the Houston Aeros, and spends regular time in the gym.
As for Herb’s professional life, he enjoys servicing his clients and keeping his talents honed, while developing new markets and opportunities for the Roadrunner Team. His expertise is not limited to just Commercial Office and Industrial moving and storage, Herb develops boutique logistics solutions and supply chain applications for many of his clients.
When asked what he enjoys the most about his career with Roadrunner Moving and Storage, “having no middle management gives me the tool I need to quickly respond and deliver solutions to my clients”, Herb states.
Herb is quick to point out Roadrunner has the financial stability, flexibility, and service mindset which allows him the advantage of strength in a hyper competitive market environment. When asked what interests you the most about this business? Herb stated, “Delivering quick response for such human need’s events as the recent Alabama tornados and the Gulf Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill, to a recent client install into one of Houston’s historic landmark fire stations, really get me excited about what I do.”
When looking at the future, Herb is focused on continuing to develop his talents, develop new markets, and discover new opportunities for himself and the Roadrunner Moving and Storage team of professionals.
